Total Mom Talk ™ | NYC Edition

Team Total Mom took NYC by storm.

Was it bananas to put on an event in New York City during New York Fashion Week? Absolutely.

Would we do it all over again? Yassssssssss. LOL

The Total Mom Talk ™ NYC was more lit than a Taylor Swift song. (Do the kids still say lit?).

It was a beautiful, fun and awe-inspiring experience.

Here is the tea on what went down in NYC this past September.

This mini-event experience brought together local influential mompreneurs together to chat, connect, and open doors for one another.

The event was hosted at the jaw-droppingly beautiful Elizabeth Sutton Townhouse in the Upper East Side (coincidentally also her first event at the brand new space!).

It was all #MTVcribs vibes as we walked through the doors of her beautiful new townhouse (or should we say Art gallery, aka shop, venue & boss babe pad). So much attention to detail! This space is EVERYTHING.

OUTDOOR MEDITATION AND SOUND BATH

The attendees were invited in with a shot of green juice, energy bites courtesy of Quick Fit Bites and refreshing bubbly hibiscus water provided by Ruby.

They were then ushered to the stunningly decorated boho-inspired backyard for a meditation and mindfulness session by our CEO and Founder Anna Sinclair, followed by a Sound Bath experience provided by the sisters from Aaliyah’s Garden.

Refreshed and grounded, the ladies got together in a chill circle to begin the ‘ask & give’ session. They shared their missions and passions, where they needed support, and exchanged stories on their brands, businesses and impact.

Nothing flexes your mindfulness muscle more than a guided meditation followed by a crystal sound bath in the middle of NYC, with the hustle and bustle in the background. Following the sound bath, guests were gifted a beautiful Palosanto smudge stick with a crystal to take home and remind them that taking a moment for themselves is key.

“The NYC traffic and construction is the perfect environment to practice meditation and mindfulness. If you’re only practicing in a calm, serene environment, then how are you supposed to apply it to real-world situations when you need to use mindfulness as a tool? That’s why we felt it was very symbolic to do it outside”

- Anna Sinclair

AFTERNOON FRISKY

Centred and relaxed, our attendees sipped on delicious cocktails in the garden by Frisky Whiskey next to the outdoor black-and-white contrast bar that stretches across the patio. Who doesn’t love a BFF bartender offering you the sweetest taste of whisky cocktails for an afternoon sip?

BRUNCH & MIMOSAS

Once we finished outdoors, it was time to come inside and kick off the event with a champagne toast and mimosa bar. Elizabeth Sutton did the honours of popping the first bottle to commemorate the very first event in her new space.

We popped some Veuve with Liz to celebrate entrepreneurship and motherhood, her first event hosted in the new space and headed over to the kitchen to fill our plates with delicious healthy catering by Stocked by Three Owls.

Next, our attendees sat down to watch the Total Mom Talk ™ Panel. Check out THIS POST to watch and learn from our incredible panellists.

Crunchy quinoa lettuce wraps. Lemon turmeric chia seed parfaits. Zucchini parmesan cakes. Toast with whipped ricotta and apple pomegranate chutney. Citrus poppy seed salad. IT WAS INCREDIBLE.

The decor was inspired by Elizabeth Sutton’s incredible butterfly wallpaper. Une Table by Tania put together an incredible tablescape and floral arrangement. She DEFINITELY understood the assignment.

“JUGGLING MOTHERHOOD & BUSINESS” PANEL

After filling their bellies, the moms sat around the table to listen to the very first Total Mom Talk ™ panel. The panel featured powerhouse moms running successful communities and businesses, sharing the ins and outs of their success and how they juggle growing their businesses while raising a family.

The panel was moderated by the one and only @modernmomprobs Tara Clark and featured:

Pamela Pekerman - Founder of Hustle Like a Mom

Erika Feldhus - CEO of HeyMama
